Added CakeTools MTLsEditor tool (works standalone as well). Added CakeTools Model Merger tool (works standalone as well). Contains embedded CT fonts and OBJ fix. Added "hair_ALPHA" texture name fix in MTLsEditor. Added check if file is already open or if game is running. This tool will also not be actively recieving updates for a while, but this might change down the line. It is not a fully polished tool currently so be forewarned not everything will work correctly. I've been sitting on this for a while but haven't released due to a lack of a few key features that would ease the workflow, however since i'm not in actively developing this tool right now I figured I should release what I got so people can mess around with the assets. Included are scripts for importing and exporting MDL files into 3DSMAX 2020. There are basic MDL! operations for working on 3D file types used in WWE 2K20. It contains functionality for inserting, importing, exporting, and replacing files within a. ) Donation Link: ĬakeTools is a WIP tool for working on. This was a solo project. I've put a good amount of time reversing many of the new file types from the ground up and incorporating them into in a GUI. I know I'm talking a lot about money, but I think that's the cure to fix the complacency in the mode and create a product fans would really love.(If you found this tool in any way useful, I would highly recommend you consider donating any amount. Lastly, it would give WWE a major way to drive viewers to TV and cross-promote other parts of this business which is rapidly growing. It would also provide them major insight about what features the fans spend the most on and help them build future lucrative games. Games are a massive rev driver for all major media companies, and if they created a living, breathing ecosystem, bringing the above benefits to players, I think they'd see steady revenue. The WWE audience is massively underserved as it relates to a sandbox / Universe mode. With how big the WWE global audience and market cap is, this is SUCH a wasted opportunity from a business standpoint. These can be commoditized and a new revenue stream for the publisher and WWE.Ĭut scenes or storylines can be updated, enhanced, added to, or made available for a limited time to promote WWE TV creating a cross-promotional opportunity. We can get access to updated arenas (which in the modern era are mostly skins in real-life) on a seasonal basis. Game content can feel more current and reactive to realtime narratives - this won't be perfect, but it will be better than the current structure (i.e.: factions and tag-teams are broken up by the time the game gets published) These can be commoditized or happen freely. Superstar music, gear, and looks can be updated seasonally versus annually. If a superstar leaves the company, their gear and features can be absorbed into CAS mode which is what creators do anyway to recreate characters not in the game. They can release single character DLC's or packs at variable prices. Roster changes can occur seasonally versus annually. I know everybody hates micro-transactions, but here's why I think they'd make this idea an awesome game and awesome Universe sandbox: The carousel goes on.īut what if we bought a single, robust, and fully developed (working) game that in which the content was updated over a 5-year lifespan? They could still mark-up future DLC so they saw competitive revenue as releasing a new title every year. 2K is basically the same game as it has been for 10 years. Why micro-transactions? They provide sustainable revenue and inventive for the publisher (and WWE to keep updating). A Universe mode with an online inventory of assets that could be routinely updated with characters, wardrobes, arenas, and storyline features unlocked through micro-transactions. Imagine a Universe mode with full scope controls, functionality, storyline features, and intelligent AI. ![]() ![]() Wrestling is a pretty confined concept - meaning it lacks the necessary ambition and depth of a title like GTA.īut speaking of GTA. There are enough examples of tech and other titles that support the functionality of this. Fans was a highly customizable, living and breathing sandbox. Here's why I think this is a good idea and why it everyone would win. I'd rather they spend a couple years developing a really robust Universe mode that was supplemented by routine updates. I experience the same bugs year to year and I feel like neglecting the bugs and releasing a broken product is price gouging the customer. ![]() ![]() I understand there are a limited of game developers and publishers, but I wish WWE would understand the value of partnering with a developer / pub who would actually put the work into creating a high functioning Universe mode.
